My first try of a DIY soda can stove, a simple variation on the following: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soda_can_stove

Filler hole in the middle is covered with a coin (not plugged), wich acts as a safety valve in case of backfire.

In the video the stove is buning homebrew prune liquor (as it would be because of my east european origin ;) ). Nomaly denatured alcohol should be used, NOT GASOLINE, ACETONE ETC. !!!

For a first try and considering that didnt use any plans but basically "winged" it works pretty good I guess ...

  • Wow! for your first try I am really impressed!! You did great! It inspired me to try it! Thank you for the Wikipedia link! It was very interesting!

  • @m1dcat: I actualy bought a gas burner later, but it's definately a fun little thingamabob to make just for the fun of it . cheers :-)

  • the fire is from alcohol?,gas?....is it good to cook anything in a so,so quick way?

  • @tauruslatino: homebrew prune liquor actually (see vid description) ... about 40-50% alcohol I guess ... you could use denatured alcohol (spiritus), but nothing more potent than that is advised.

  • deion=description ... urgh

  • wow, thats kind of funny how you have the stove, on a stove burner!

  • an acetone one would burn basically for a long time, but the problem is burning it out

  • @knivesfishwild: "Laughing Out Loud" ? you're supposed to put the alcohol in the burner and light it ... not to drink it all ! ;-)

  • @pntballer20: sorry to dissapoint, but we're a bit short on idiots ... also, I kind of still need my eyes/hands and I actually like being married, so my answer would have to be 'no' ;-)
