simple way to teach your kid....take her hand and pet the dog with her, then she knows what nice is. did this with my cat and kid. no offence but wouldnt blame the dog if it bit her!!

@mathewthehusky1 I understand your sentiment, but though it looks as if she is being rough she is not. Besides I think she could take you.

If you don't want opinions, you disable comments. Or just stay off the internet and not post your stuff on youtube, allowing for people to give their opinions on what you've put up.
Yeah, what a terrible world that people should point out stupidity... Terrible world.

Dogs don't always act rationally when they're annoyed.

You haven't been on the internet much have you? Hehe.
That said, one of the top rated comments has written the right thing. You went about with this with the dog the wrong way, that dog is inches from NOT putting up with your child.
Doesn't matter if you're the president, you still did this the wrong way and endangered your child.
Stop being so high and mighty, more people then you have dogs, and they're telling you you've acted terribly. Suck it up.

This is the reason family dogs bite. You really have to watch the kids at all times. So you were doing the right thing, the dog was calm and in a calm environment. A child that small don't have the motor skills to pet a dog "nicely" so you really have to keep an eye on them.
Looks like you have a real nice dog, and a beautiful kid ofc :)
To all that says it looks like the dog is "sad" or "suffering": they don't know how to react to kids at the beginning. They learn from things like in the vid.

Get the squirt gun out.
Oh my gosh guys! Seriously? Grow up! The little girl was too small to really hurt the dog and if the dog truly didn't like it, she could get up and walk away at any point. I think it's a sweet video. your dog is very patient and adorable! :)

P.S. You have the freedom to post your opinions here, and we appreciate constructive criticism since we put it out there. (Thanks to all the other commentators for your messages.:) But if you're that immature, you shouldn't be showing your ignorance in a public domain.

As for the commentator who was threatening — and those of you who, jokingly or otherwise, said my child was a brat or also insinuated you wanted to hit her — yeah, she could still take you, and she's 5 now. And her parents could certainly take you!

My previous message was cut off; I meant to state that no one is qualified to judge the total picture based on a one-minute (or less) video clip. My husband and I were well familiar with the relationship between our daughter and our dog, and only we know how much Hopie loved attention and affection and, above all, AnnaLucia. This video is an adorable but brief display of what was a most loving partnership of baby and canine.

Someone called me "retarded?" Wow -- glad I didn't bother checking these comments before and kind of upset I'm reading them now.
Firstly, as a former Special Olympics coach and, above all, a human being, I ask you to check the word "retarded" at the door. If you're old enough to be on the Internet and leave comments, then surely you're mature enough -- or should be -- to avoid resorting to terminology that's not at all civilized.
Secondly, please avoid jumping to conclusions; no one is qualifi
