Self-explanatory. 10/10/2006. I would've run over to try to touch him like the other fans and claim fame, but I thought it'd be better for the world to see what's happened to Wilton after DeGarmo left.

  • whoa whoa chris degarmo is one of my top 5 favorite guitarist and he was the backbone for QR along with tate and wilton WRITING wise, micheal wilton is a hell of a guitarist too,but i agree NOONE can and ever will replace him,nor can anyone sing backing vocals like he did and harmonize so well with geoff tate, but they still sound awesome and are kicking ass TODAY! and said chris can rejoin anytime aslong as he makes it a full commitment,so maybe one day and i have and love all QR albums !!

  • Michael is a great guitarist, but unfortunately, I haven't seen any chemistry between him and any of the guys who have replaced Chris. In general, it's not impossible to replace a guitarist, but how many guitarists can write great songs, play killer solos, AND harmonize with Geoff the way Chris did?

  • Have been a devoted Queensryche fan since 1984, & seen them over a dozen times, met all but DeGarmo & Rockenfield, & I DO NOT hold anything towards

Chris for his departure yeah it sucked but it would suck even more if the band

decided to hang everything on one person leaving as the reason to pack it in!

They are still a BAND that has showed no one person is greater than the creative whole, & I respect them even more for it. Rock on guys!!!

  • Uhmm ok.....I guess you could say thats the sound of the Great Queensryche train running of the tracks. I really do hope they can crank out one more really great album one day. For now I'll just settle for replaying all their old cd's released before Q2k.

  • That other guitarist is Geoffs brother in law, can you imagine all that temptation on the road and having your brother in law watching you.

  • We saw Queensryche at Myrtle Beach about a week ago...They were awesome..I do wish Degarmo would come back... It takes 2 guitarists other than Wilton, to replace him..

  • You can have more than one excellent guitarist in the history of a band! I am betting that if you all asked Chris he would tell you that's exactly what Whip and Stone both are! The band is a team effort ~ each member is the backbone!

  • Still listen to Mindcrime weekly since 1988. Mindcrime II fell pretty flat. Compare the two performances in the DVD Mindcrime at the Moor....and there is no comparison,,,at all. Still a great bacn and it would be nice to see Chris at least moonlight back with the band and possibly put out a new album.

  • Great band and I've been following QR since its' inception. But without Degarmo they have severely suffered talent-wise, ever since. They're now just a so-so band. I bought Mindcrime 2 and have tossed it. Lousy piece of work. They lost me as a devoted fan, very long ago. We'll see if teir next venture has any musical talent.

  • I totally agree with you thrashroberts!

    Feels good to read :)
