You play it, you name it is an open ended game, that means a game that has no fixed rules. The rules are determined by the players before or during the game.
The project is aimed to encourage playful interactions between people and stimulate the social behaviours within the group. The design process initially was focused on the age group 4-7 yrs old, because that is the time of most extensive development of social skills during the growth of a person. During the game children can learn how to negotiate rules, be a part of a team, be competitive as well as to use imagination to explore and control their environment.
The game consists of a group of identical elements with the same interaction rules. If the sphere is tounched it comes to live, bu giving a light feedback simmilar to the heartbeat. The more its being played with, the more intense the heartbeat becomes. The energy (light) can be also sent in between the pheres.
The shape and materiality of the elements support the natural type of movements during the childrens play, like: push, pull, bump over the soft object/ or each other, throw, aim, run, as well as swing and sway.
Hi Ewe,
I got this link from Theo, what a creative game! seems like their really enjoying it without a set of rules.
