Here is one of my oldest surviving films that I made nearly 48 years ago!
I loved horror & monster movies, so along with my buddy John Hopkins, we set out on a Saturday to show scenes with our favorite monsters.
They are all there including Frankenstein, the Mummy, the Hunchback, the Mole Man, the Invisible Man and a scene where Kerry is on the wrong side of a voodoo monster.
The film was made in B&W with my 1st 8mm camera - a Kodak Brownie II. The music was added for YouTube. Please enjoy one of my first primitive efforts!
Filmed: Fall 1960 in Poughkeepsie, NY

  • And you did your own stunts! Nice work ... you're freaking me out with that mallet though.

You're fortunate to have such an old film of yourselves.

I also was into FM and had most of the copies starting from 1960 - 1964 or so. Too bad I had to rebuy them on ebay when I was 50. :0

  • Thanks! Yes, I entered a FM movie contest they had. sent off my film...never saw or heard anything of it again. Wish I still had a copy of that film.

  • started collecting Famous Monsters of Filmland with 3rd issue-you should have entered this in a contest -fun ....

(we're got a 20 minute song about the old monster movies-split into 9 parts here -with old scenes/posters ...

    pleasant dreams !

  • Famous Monsters ran a film contest back in 1965 or 66. I entered it but never heard anything, so I guess I lost out. Thanks!

  • The 50 feet Insects was nothing but a giant aligator.

It is like THE BEAST FROM 20'00 FATHOMS.

There is a difference between reptiles and insecets you know.

  • Thanks! 48 years after making that film, I finally learned the difference between reptiles and "insecets".

I was a monster lover too, and I loved Famous Monsters...it was a good time to be young.

  • Super cool! Thanks for posting this.

  • I want to show this on my program Nightmare Alley. As well as include it in the film programming for a horror convention I am helping to organize here in Seattle, WA.

    Awesome stuff.

  • That was HILARIOUS!!! Amazing the fun you could have with a Kodak movie camera back in those days.
