The Oversight and Government Reform Committee holds a hearing, "Darfur and the Olympics: A Call for International Action." Subcommittee Chairman John Tierney has invited classrooms across the country to watch the hearing. On Tuesday the House passed a resolution introduced by Rep. Barbara Lee calling on the government of the People's Republic of China to use its unique influence and economic leverage to stop genocide and violence in Darfur. Jill Savitt, Director of the Olympic Dream for Darfur Campaign, gives opening testimony.
China has sent troops to Darfur to join the UN peacekeeping mission there. So, where are the American troops? Still stuck in IraqNam, stealing their oil.

well, duh, the olympics are about sports. Having the olympics in China, however, is an honor that we can strip from the Chinese. And if you think Darfur is a political issue, you are very misinformed, my friend. i would recommend you read The Devil Came on Horseback by Brian Steidle, it'll change your mind.
