The song is basically saying that we have to pray for Haiti so that Haiti will change to the old days when things were much better...

When I came back from Haiti, I thought what can I do to help Haiti... my country. Many ideas entered into my head, however many of them did not have good outcomes. So, I decided that I would have a fundraiser to help raise money to help some of the individuals I met while in Haiti.

Since I have been back from visiting Haiti in March 2010, I have not spent a dime on unnecessary items (clothing, shoes, accessories, etc. etc.). I looked around my room, saw the countless overflow of crap I have, and I felt disgusted. I said to myself, its time. It is time to clear out my closet and downsize tremendously. And since I have been doing house searches, most walk-in closets I saw cannot even contain all the crap I have.

I felt mostly disgusted because, here I have all this crap, while the people of Haiti hardly have anything. Not that they need clothes or shoes, but they need medical attention, food, clean water, and so much more of the essentials. So starting in June, I will be selling a good majority my possessions via eBay or yard sales. All monies raised will go towards my Winter 2010: Hope For a Better Tomorrow, For a Better Haiti Project.

Hope For a Better Tomorrow, For a Better Haiti Project will hopefully raise over $1,000 American dollars ($39,000 Haitian Gourdes) to send to Haiti to go towards helping three Haitian families. The $1,000 goal amount is my personal goal from proceeds I will raise.

Therefore, I ask you to join me in my efforts. If there is something that you would like to donate (essentials: baby food, diapers, baby formula, baby educational toys, etc) you can do so prior to 2011. If there is something that you are no longer in need of, please attempt to sell the item(s), and donate the proceeds to the project. Each donor can set their own goal amount for this project depending on your availability. An incentive I have placed for myself is that any amount I raise over the $1,000 goal (not to include other donations, solely my monies) will go towards the purchase of an Airplane Ticket for myself to Haiti for late 2010/early 2011. I would like to give the money directly to the people I wish to help. If I fall short of my goal (which I will not allow), then the money will be sent via Western Union or C.A.M.

You too, can place this incentive on your goal. For instance, someone can set a goal of $500 and anything raised over that amount can go towards the purchase of plane ticket to Haiti too. The goal of this project is just not to send money over there, because anyone can do that, but it is to get rid of the material things that we have in our lives that we wont be able to take to Heaven with us when we die. What good is it to have 20 Coach purses, a million pairs of shoes, 120 pairs of jeans, 30 pairs of Jordans, when there are people dying of the basic necessities of life. Not that I will not be taking monetary donations, because I will however I want it to come from something you had to give up.

Not only will you be helping individuals that suffered from the Earthquake, but you will be doing what God calls us to do

Matthew: 25 v 35- 40:

35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' 37"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' 40"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

Remember it probably will not be the People of Haiti to raise Haiti back to the Great Nation it once was, but the Descendants of Haiti. The Haitian American children who were either born in Haiti and came to America at a young age or American born Haitians.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

More details and information to come in the near future.

BE BLESSED AND STAY IN PEACE!
