I wish I could see Kulman street. Thanks

I'd have to know the picture you are talking about to comment there.
You must remember, Belarus is a very closed country, and former member of the Soviet Union. It is not a society where people were able to, or even cared to, learn about American trivia. And needless to say, the young people don't give a damn. I'd bet you $100 75% of U.S. citizens under 30 don't know who Oswald is.

It could be too, as you said, the "rambling" building with balconies (it is shown in many books, an old black-and-white shot with a hand-drawn arrow pointing to the window/balcony) was torn down? So only a few lower level aspects survive, one of which is a clothing store? I assumed folks in Minsk regard the Oswald-thing like the residents of Long Island regard the "Amityville-horror" house. Disdain, disgust, and secrecy.

WOW. How very odd. Can you tell me this: was the "window" I saw in the Belarus/Minsk online brochure a ground-floor window, near a palatial facade with columns? THAT is what the AD showed, I have only ever seen the three or four story building with the series of balconies (suggesting he/they lived on at least the second floor). I am truly surprised no one KNOWS, I live in Phoenix, and EVERYOINE knows where Bob Crane was murdered and which hotel Marylin Monroe stayed in for ONE NIGHT! Odd.

No other residence recorded other than the one I located. There is no balcony, and all traces of it as an apartment dwelling are gone.
You have to search long and hard to find anyone who has ever heard of Oswald in Minsk. Perhaps a history professor, but not your average citizen.

WOW, that sort of shocks me - I even read an online 'Travelogue" about Minsk, and among other things, it mentions that fact, and not in the "deep-dark-secret" sort of way. Just a fact. Too, there is an odd building shown, claiming a first-floor window was his, yet in all the old photos, it was a rambling building with balconies (the balcony is referred to in various Marina and Lee accounts; and they are even photographed on it). Perhaps he has another place of residence at some point? Odd.

I walked by there and took pictures of the building when I was in Minsk. The address where his apartment supposedly was is a store of some sort. I think clothes. There appear to be residential apartments on the upper floors. Nobody in Minsk has any idea who the heck Oswald is though. Either too long ago or was simply never taught to Minsk kids in school.

I like this - Lee Harvey Oswald had an apartment here in a big fancy building somewhere here in 1960-61 - where is it? Does anyone talk about it or point it out??
