Is it fair for a minority of senators to block an important bill? Most people would say no. That's why 30 years ago the Senate introduced a procedure known as "reconciliation" to ensure the democratic process would never come to a halt. Reconciliation allows for a simple up-or-down vote on a specific type of legislation -- if it reduces the budget deficit.

  • Let's do this! Don't listen to the corrupt republicans that pretend to represent the people.

  • When you actually observe the constitution then you can earn the right to talk about procedural issues like the filibuster.

    You don't represent me.

  • health care isn't going to reduce the budget deficit. The government takeover of healthcare will put us that much closer to where Greece is today. Greece is a country that can no longer afford all of its social programs and is going bankrupt because of them.

Socialized healthcare is going to greatly increase the budget deficit.
