  • Thanks, I saw a huge one like 20 lbs and it was with 3 babies

  • @daniel123s1ckstuffz When those males are courting females they are harder to catch...I guess they don't have feeding on their mind....God bless you, Italo

  • Man I should try there, I have a trailer at Westley Acres on West Lake just near there, I catch some nice bass there, many over 3 lb.

  • @daniel123s1ckstuffz Hey, you also have gar in West Lake in June as well, just look for them along the cattail bank and bay just east of Westley Acres...God bless you, Italo

  • @ItaloLabignan Yeah, I've seen some big ones near my dock but they don't bite.

  • @daniel123s1ckstuffz If you see some this summer, try not to spook them (they have really good eyesight), and try casting the same Original Rapala #11 that I used to do the show and pass it in front of them. You have to "over-cast" so you don't spook them and than reel it across in front of them...God bless you, Italo

  • @burgelikesdick I have not, but I have a feeling they are tasty. I did a 1hr TV special once in the Florida Everglades and caught them fly fishing. I know that the Seminoe Indians there commonly used a "noose" to snare them when they swim along the surface and eat them. At one time they were very important to their diet. Also, in some parts of the US like the Trinity River in Texas gar up to 100 lb. in weight were commercially caught and sold for eating...God bless you, Italo

  • have you ecer tryed eatimg them?

  • @GoingBrushless4X4 Hay, I like that, "Canadian saw-fish", they sure have a neat set of teeth. I have not caught many of them, but I have enjoyed catching them very much....God bless you, Italo
