Who ever chose these songs or arraigned this album knew her voice well. In my humble opinion, this is one of the best ever made. Every song is a winner. My mother played this when I was a child and I've been playing it ever since. I introduced it to my wife and it's one of her favorites.
That's just how it feels when a love affair is over...The feeling..the love, the hurt...is all here...God bless voices like Gloria's..Peace, Love and a Smile, MARIA GONZALEZ
What a way to begin an album! This is the first song on this album, and its pure heaven until the last song! This particular album was Gloria's crowning achievement commercially. In other words it was her best selling album. It also brought her to Ed Sullivan's show and won her the Playboy Jazz Poll as Best female vocalist of 1964. The song I Wish You Love from this album was also her biggest commercial success.
I'm a guy but I have to cry when I hear her sing, her beautiful voice is overwhelming, just wrings all the stress and rigor and gives me youth again. This album is two buckets of tears for this old guy. God bless Gloria Lynne and the wonderful Marty Paiche who also enhanced Mel Torme songs.
In the old days I remember it wasn't "allowed" to have two new singers become popular at the same time, like Sarah Vaughn and Dakota Staton, so SV prevailed for the masses and DS for afficianados only.
I agree with you 100%!!! The highlight of her career. Although she had many other albums that were good, this is the album that brought her the most acclaim.
TMP,,thanks much, she will allways be my first choice, locked in heart and mind

A brilliant album in all respects. The best of her career, and commercially the most popular. A great, underrated singer. One of the best.
