  • Mr Mayor I live on Lindsley Ave and Sunset in Vailsburg My kids cannot play in my yard.Because the dealers have taken over the street there was a Drive by shooting some Saturdays ago. Something must be done.

  • @kdezeil044 I don't know whether Mayor Booker will see your comment - I'd suggest trying to reach him through Facebook or Twitter.

  • Newark is bankrupt & under State control; their schools are abbot districts & funded by the State. This guy is a JOKE

  • @circusmaximus10 I didn't realize Newark was a shining city upon a hill before Mayor Booker was elected.

If only Sharpe James were still in power to keep the good old days alive.

  • @affiliatetip You have to admit that there is a common theme across the State-Camden, AC, Trenton, Irvington, Jersey City, Newark, Patterson...elected officials just keep perpetuating the mismanagement through their greed and ignorance then turn to the State to bail them out.

  • @circusmaximus10 sure, politicians and their cronies have destroyed the state, but I admire what Mayor Booker is doing to try and fix things.

That said, I finally had enough of all that mess and moved from NJ to Austin, TX 6 weeks ago. :)

  • @kuongjah7 Wouldn't go that far. But if he decided to, I am pretty sure he could beat Christie for the governorship, and from there, who knows?

  • Booker has his share of haters, to be sure. I'm not one of them. I think he does have more than a little typical politician in him, but he also has enough about him that is not so typical that it makes him well worth listening to. And I honestly think that in his time as mayor he has done far more for Newark than Sharpe James every did. I want to see Booker do more and go far.

  • @circusmaximus10 This entire country is bankrupt borrowing money from other countries so what are you really talking about? The majority of inner city preschools are abbott created by the state in an effort to lessen the disparity in ed. btwn urban & suburban students. Nwk Bd of Ed was under state control in the 90s so To say he's a joke w/o a sound defense does nothing to change the disparities in Nwk can they be better YES but the citizens must put aside the differences for the greater good

  • @circusmaximus10 I remember seeing the same buildings in Nwk being run down eyesoars for my first 20+ years on this earth I also remember seeing and hearing the negative of Nwk. I feel that Mayor Booker is bringing a change in perception which hopefully will bring about new vital residents & businesses that would help to absorb the debt, lower taxes & partner with efforts to erdicate education environmental & employment issues

  • @affiliatetip As an FYI, Booker is just another one of the problems in the State. I see and know what he has done in NWK. Believe me when I say he is NOT fixing anything...Nwk is still in big debt, Booker is clueless how to get out of it, and they keep coming to the State to bail them out. It is shameful how this type of politician has run towns into the ground, entitlements are flying out the window and nothing gets better.
