Gerhard Richter discusses his new exhibition at the Serpentine Gallery, 4900 Colours: Version II, a site specific configuration of a modular painting consisting of 196 square panels, each with 25 randomly coloured tiles. Richter's project grew out of his grid paintings from the late 1960s and his design for the the stained glass window of Cologne Cathedral, unveiled last year.

  • Interesting post. like it! =)

  • I'm assuming it's the work behind them? Feels like leftovers. Not much interesting was said. Wish I liked it!?

  • Richter is a truly brilliant bourgeois artist

  • Wow, what a silly thing to say that Richter is "technically above all other artists"... "he has an eye for the visual side" Duh... he's making visual art.

  • Whatever that means, like a nervous system.

  • great stuff!

  • Richter is technically above all other artists (he has an eye for the visual side of the art) - but the things he brings are not new !
