Sam's Bad Day - Cartoon Network Image Spot

Ahh, good ol' Sam. Animated by the great team of animators at Primal Screen, I wrote this spot early on in my career at Cartoon Network. My bosses loved it but did not want to spend the money. They kept saying: "Make it a thirty!" I would say, "No, the joke doesn't work as a thirty." Really, it needed that extra time to show what a crappy day Sam is having. It just doesn't stop. One thing after another! So, at the end when you see that this is his job - just another day at work somehow adding insult to injury- its funny!

Incidentally, this one was a CLIO Finalist.

"This was the old Cartoon Network!" The Cartoon Network, today, is no longer the same, why spend more funny Cartoons. How: The Villain is giving bad... In the case of Yosemite Sam, he's suffered most with Bugs Bunny. I liked it better when evil was lost for good. The Goodies always mocked and laughed at the guy d evil. It was Cartoons greats!

No non-Mel Blanc actor has ever attempted to do Sam's trademark 'OooohohohooOO!!!!!!!!' justice. Which is understandable. :)
