April 14th High Risk Time Lapse (Extreme Wind Shear)

This is a time lapse of the pre storm environment during the severe weather outbreak on April 14th, 2012. It is an environment like this that produced the destructive tornadoes in Witicha, Kansas, and Woodward, Oklahoma. Notice the many different directions the clouds are moving at different heights. This is called wind shear, and is extremely important in the development of severe weather.
