What turned out to be my last trip to this store across the street from Harrison Park. As a kid, I used to come here for candies. The owner has since died, and the store closed. As of 2009 the store is still vacant.
I remember growing up as kid buying candy with only a couple of pennies in my pocket. We would enjoy going to the store after baseball practice with the Pirates or on my way to Big cooper or JC Orozco. The penny fishes were my favorite. Ed was part owner of the store with his sister Charlotte. Sadly, Ed passed away on July 22, 2010. He was 90 years old.
@BitoftheDay Keep up the good work - everyone on my message board from Chicago loved this video. It brought back a lot of memories.
