I don't think it was that unremarked by fans, Elliott. I was reading Waid's run then and he got some Nasty letters from pissed off long-time FF/Doom fans.
I thought it was awesome, though. He gave Doom some balls and actually made him live up to his moinker of DOOM.

I have to admit though I actually liked that story because to me, it took Doom from being a head villian to THE head villian in comics. I mean, you can't get any worst than sending your enemy's child to hell.
The fact that that little ramification has never been touched on again, Frank should be in therapy for years, bugs me.
And don't get me started on Baby girl Val now only growing faster than Frank but also being smarter. What the heck is that all about?

Yes, when Doom found a woman he was once in love with and killed her so that he could turn her flesh into armor. Pretty despicable and went relatively unremarked on in the comics community.
Had Jose and I this show when it occurred, we would have taken Mark Waid to task as much as we do Bendis.

guys!!! october sales = marvel 40%, dc 37%!!!! were winning!!!
oh and top six books of the month, all blackest night. the only reason why marvel is up there is cuz of all the bullshit, overpriced dark reign garbage. but still.. YAY!
