November 17, 2010 -- At a breakfast discussion, International Adoption and the Global Orphan Crisis, co-hosted by The Daily Beast and Urban Zen, Dr. Sophie Mengitsu, who runs the Worldwide Orphans Foundation in Ethiopia, spoke passionately about the damage that living in an orphanage can have: For every three months in an institution, a child is developmentally delayed by approximately one month.

  • Thank you Dr. Sophie Mengitsu,The adoption agency are not there to help Ethiopian children but to make money of us.by selling Ethiopian kids.

  • My dear doctor the institutions you are talking about may not be perfect however they are trying their best to accommodate for the orphans. Considering the resource they have they are doing good. To say they are better of in the street is absolutely irresponsible. By the way please don't refer to us the as the THIRD WORLD for we are part of the same world you and your esteem colleague are from. Yes we don't have it all but we are still from this world. That went out with the cold war.
