i understand and agree with all of your insights. i think the perfect solution is a spinoff nighttime soap on soapnet, like gh: nightshift. oh well, i can always dream! thanx for listening to my rants!

I'm debating whether to continue uploading these non-Nuke Casey/Alison/Jade episodes. Leave your opinion as comments. I may also upload classic Luke episodes, i.e. from the moment he came out to the famous Emmy-nominated confrontation with Damian at the airport. Inclusive is the scene where Luke pushes Lily down the stairs into a coma. What do you guys want?

I wasn't gonna upload this non-Nuke episode but it leads into today's (1-28-09) Luke episode so here is the belated upload. Jake Silbermann is taking a break so Noah will be absent for a while. That means that there'll likely be less Luke as well.
so....emma likes casey???!

Do you mean Emily? Emma is Luke's grandmother (and Holden's mom). She owns the farm where Nuke were.living. While loving, she is against premarital sex, which prevented Nuke from sleeping together.
Emily is Alison's older sister. She is usually an evil bitch. She and Casey were married a few months ago but soon divorced. Emily and Casey's father had an affair many years ago which resulted in a son.
> I want NUKE
They're happy now, so we'll see less of them

why is atwt is slowing down on nuke? it's one of the only soap storylines mentioned routinely in TV GUIDE; this week's issue (jan 26-feb 8) features yet another gr8 photo and update of noah and luke on page 93--no other atwt storyline is even referenced! and, it's the #1 atwt storyline people talk about on the internet. seems to me more of a reason to feature nuke, rather than slow down.
NukeOakdale, i enjoy the atwt vids. i'll keep watching if you keep posting. thanx again.

Soaps thrive on tragedy and drama. Since Nuke is finally happy, that means less airtime. Happy Nuke means unhappy viewers! The truth is that Jake needs a break. Since he has no contract, he can come and go as he pleases. On the other hand, Van's contract guarantees him a certain number of episodes or hours of airtime. So we'll still see Luke, but not Nuke. But he'll be a supporting character for a while.

They were also Soap Opera Digest's fave couple several times. Sadly, Nuke's popularity doesn't help ATWT. Nuke fans are mostly young and watch excerpts on the web. That doesn't help ATWT's Nielsen ratings, which determines a show's survival. Most Nuke fans can't name one product advertised on the show. The most influential viewers are older conservative homemakers, many of whom dislike Nuke. They watch the ads and buy P&G products.

My profile page advises fans to not threaten CBS and P&G that they'll stop watching if Nuke disappears. That's because CBS knows that we're mostly online viewers who don't help their ratings. What they want are loyal viewers who watch the entire show, and not just for Nuke. Those are the viewers who influence the storylines. Sadly, many of them are also uncomfortable with the gay aspect.

Many thanks for watching and commenting!
