@Freepepsi42 No doubt the D90 is still a great camera, but comparing kit lenses isn't going to convince me that the D90 is a better body. I've shot with a D90, and I've shot with a D5100, and I prefer the 5100 from my personal experience. Not having an internal af motor in the 5100 isn't that big of a deal to me, since most of the new lenses coming out are af-s lenses anyway. I don't mind manual focusing with the older lenses I have. The sensor in the 5100 is also much better. To each his own =)

@xmtsystems and better body. I don't have to scroll menus to change ISO. And the body can last a fall.

@xmtsystems The D90 is a great camera, it has a built in auto focus motor and comes with the 18-105mm which is better then the 18-55. It's old tech but it is worth the price. And that's why the value of the D90 did not drop. And it is only a $50 dollar difference. And for the fact you can use more lens' then the D5100 is worth the $800.

@mattabiko24 I bought it for my photography class and I have taken some great photos. The nikon is an awesome camera for a begginer :) hope this helps! Good luck on your camera hunt.
-
@Freepepsi42 Why? The D90 is old tech, and when compared to the D5100, the D90 is outperformed in nearly every way... Including price.
-
@TheWonAznGuy save up for a D90 the low light sucks balls. If you shoot above 800 ISO the photos become extremely grainy.
-
@hghgh685 Well if Nikon were to add a focusing motor, live view, movie mode, and an external mic input onto the D3000, it would be just as expensive as the D7000. Just because it's cheap doesn't mean it sucks. The only reason why the D3000 is so cheap is because it is meant for the entry level consumers who have no idea wtf is a focusing motor is, the difference between an AF and AF-S lenses are, or even how to plug in an external mic. Cheap doesn't mean "suck"...
