DMCK - Worship Dance Competition

Our Church's (Disciple Methodist) worship Dance team, DMCK, performing at a worship dance competition. We danced to the Promise Keepers version of Church On Fire.

Actually you should read your bible. John 4:24 says

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Spirit and truth. Worship isn't a thing for us to do so we can feel good. It is a way of showing God that He is bigger.

I personally don't care what your church does. It's fine by me... I just think it's really funny haha

THOU SHALT NOT HAVE FUN? God says subdue the earth, not be captive to it. Dance is not sin. Judgmental folks say "looks more like shake your booties than praise the lord"? Imagine what you would have said when David was on the ground out of his clothes in worship? He had critics. God promised abundant life. I'm a minister, have relationship with God, and can do every dance out there. I'm over 30 and don't hang out in clubs, but if that looks fun and church is not, where do you think they'll go?

You know the title of this video really threw me off. I like to compete, but will someone please tell me what a worship competition is? Since when did the people of God start competing to see who could worship God the best. I mean come on! Is Jesus really up in heaven looking down to see who is worshiping him the best (on the outside)? The Bible says that we should worship Him in spirit and in truth. Not in the spirit of competition.

Why do we insist on taking dance moves from the world? And using profanity? We totally ruin our witness when we get up & try to minister then sit down and talk just like the world. The Bible clearly says to "come out from the world and be ye separate" ..and i don't believe He meant just one step behind the world either.

i don't understand the purpose of competing in that which is supposed to be of God. there is no question that we are to present our best ...but competition is competition no matter how you serve it or try to excuse it.

i am a minister of dance, and i know that i cannot be sloppy. i have to practice. i go to class. i wear the best that i can afford. but i do not compete.

remember satan was kicked out of heaven for compettion!

iam sure you dont see anything wrong with that but you really need to understand what the scriptures say about this!! compitition creates selfisheness, pride, and a want or need to be better! IT IS SAID THAT WE SHOULD BE ONE LIKE THE BODY OF CHRIST!!! NOT AGAINST!! IAM SURE THEY CAN USE THERE "MINISRTY" BETTER AND TURN IT FROM PERFORMING TO MINISTERING TO LOST SOULS!! Nothing is wrong with a Dance compettion if its based on what really gets you motivated to dance if you look at it in the point of view of which dance team can really get your spirit up then i see nothing wrong with it im sure they're not taking it seriously and saying something like "damn we lost" they;re just happy to perform ^_^

This isn't a worldly dance at all. There are so many ways you could praise God, hip-hop dancing included.

Listen to Christian music. Some songs sound pretty similar to secular stuff. The difference between the secular and Christian isn't the music. It's whether or not it's offered up to God. Same goes for dance.
