  • @yates00 -

I'M PRETTY SURE THIS IS THE ONLY SONG I SAW OF HER ON THIS SPECIAL ON TV - THOUGH THERE IS SURE TO BE MORE OF HER ON THE DVD FROM THIS CONCERT - THEY ONLY SHOWED PART OF THE CONCERT ON TV FOR FUND-RAISING PURPOSES....

  • I have to say I quite enijoyed this lower version. It seemed to be less about the big notes and more about the message of the song that way.

  • MMmmm Mmmm she is just wonderful. I swear if I never get to see her perform live, my life will never EVER be complete. I've literally done every song on her Broadway CD, whether it be for a performance or audition. She is the best.

  • @chpnlzt Visit our channel for the official playlist of this concert - all songs available. : )

  • Beautiful performance, great song, of one of the great female vocalist of all time. Please post more of Linda Eder. Although volumn was low, the orchestra was very rich and full. Was there any studio enhancement?

  • Hmmm... I love Linda! My absolute favorite singer. Though she seemed and looked tired in this one. :(

  • @dax28645 I agree, she may have just been sick that week.

  • @scampsweep I was surprised as well. It does seem unusual for her to lower the key she is quite capable of singing all her songs in the original key. Also it may not have been totally her call on the matter, after all did you see how close the audience was they did want to preserve their hearing for the rest of the concert! LOL she would have blown out their ear pieces. I joke. Who knows maybe she was a little under the weather. She is one of the greats that has lost nothing of that voice to age.

  • She also sang Someone like you in the second half of the show.

  • This is a great song, but I'm not it has the same impact when sung on this lowered key. It lacks the intensity that her other versions have. The original is written on a higher key and requires huge belting, but the shift in key here seems quite significant. I know that as the voice matures, it lowers in register, so does Linda always sing this song in this key now? Surprising, as she still belts Vienna as originally written. This is the first time I've known Linda sing a song in a lowered key.

  • @chpnlzt She also sang Electricity from Billy Elliot. I can't remember if it was before or after this, but it was also quite good.
