dempsey would not get into the england squad and nor would altidore and neither of them play at THE highest level. they both play for weak clubs.
donavon is the only american player who have genuine world class ability, but still not good enough to get into the worlds biggest clubs. bayern munich didnt think he was good enough.
the united states do well because they know their limits and dont have any ball hogging show offs... which is rare at international level

@P4PMike Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey. And believe me, I was in shock 2. I'm for the US first and foremost, but I follow Brazil and England as well. My favorite club teams are Chelsea, Celtic, and Flamengo. but yes i agree to most of that. but you do overlook some of our players who truly perform at the highest level, like Donovan, Dempsey, Altidore, etc.

@P4PMike team? yes they are. A team is defined as a group of players that group together and play together. England shouldnt even be considered a team the way they played this past world cup. they were selfish, individual. it screwed up their chemistry. The US played together and fought for each other. We just got screwed by the crappy refs. The US loves soccer.

@Zanislav100 Okay, before this turns into a flame war, let me clarify that I was immensely impressed by the way your team played in that World Cup. We made some crucial mistakes, you made us pay for it, and I was impressed. I was also a little disappointed that you didn't make it out of the group stage.
