is there any way to make a white light turn red with the push of a button so that it stays red until you push another button so it goes back to white?

just curious as to what MCD rating those leds are.... and are they just 5mm?

They are just 5mm - the blue is actually a white and is brighter than the red but they are both just standard, out of my bits box.
