My dad was there at the dome, his company did the tarmacing inside. He's not in this ad though, he had an M reg Transit SWB. Best ever van, will buy one if I find a decent condition one :-)

The mk1 and mk2 Transits are the best looking ones, its a pity they are thin on the ground these days. I had a A reg mk2 swb van with a 2.4 york in it, with twin sliding doors. I loved it and i wish i never sold it in 2004, i miss it so much. I think the mk1-mk2s go for silly money these days on ebay. Got my mk2 in 1999 for £300, and sold it for £1800 in 2004.

The biggest problem with the Transit Mk5 was rust. I've seen '99 and '00 Transits falling to bits with rust already.
Engines in them on the other hand are indestructible. The non-contact engine was great.
