Weeaboo, Wapanese..

I just found out what a Weeaboo is when I went onto a video with a white girl speaking Japanese. She said, "I'm not a weeaboo, Japanese is my first language..." So I'm like wait, wth is a weeaboo? So I went to trusty urbandictionary and found out, basically someone who is obsessed with Japanese culture or anime. I'm assuming this is mainly addressed to anime fanatics. I always hated the crazy "weeaboos" on GaiaOnline. But then I realized, oh shit do people think I'm one? Because I make the cooking videos making Japanese food. Hopefully you guys don't think that. I cook Japanese food because it tastes good to me and it's healthy, not because I'm trying to BE Japanese.

Tell me what you guys think about "Weeaboos".

@Ninox37 Oh dear lord do I know that feeling. It's even worse when you are a fan of a few different animes, so people will automatically make the connection.

In my mind, I don't really relate Japan and Anime. I mean, yeah, Anime is from Japan, but I don't like Japan just because they make anime. That's kind of like someone having an obsession with New Zealand because they like sheep. It just doesn't make sense.

All forms of entertainment have their share of junk, of course, but this attitude against anime that is coming from ignorance is reprehensible.

Anime was an oasis of intellectual, cultural, and mature themes in cartoon form during the early 90s. Kids that grew up preferring anime INSTEAD OF Fox 15 TV were generally smarter, more creative, and more socially tolerant (i.e. better human beings). I'm college educated with a B.Sci and an M.Sci in technology. I'm also an artist.

I've never seen a weeaboo irl, but I heard they're bad. However I'd rather be around fifty weeaboos than one ghetto person. It'd be refreshing.
