Mazda Rx7 Fc Short Shifter installation FAIL! eBay

so my cousin recently bought a short shifter on eBay for basically 45$ i believe..
got it in the mail yesterday tried to install it today...
unfortunately it didn't workout and the fitment was off..(Damn you eBay!)

i know i shouldn't post a video installing nothing other than the OEM piece back in place, but i figured that someone would want to reference from this video to have an idea what to deal with when installing a short shifter on an RX7 Fc.

you would see in the video that we cut corners. we didn't want to take out the center console and we didn't want to unbolt the boot housing (since we would have to take out center console). lucky the boot was so torn apart we didn't have to. we just slipped the OEM shifter through the torn boot.

you would also see the comparison of the eBay short shifter and OEM shifter. (note the difference and learn from our mistake)

and i would also like to say sorry for the profound language you may hear throughout the video and obscene gestures towards the human anatomy......

what you need to do is buy a short shifter and a 3 piece shifter boot kit from mazdatrix i had the same exact problem

@NoobProjectCar first off your swearing at your own car original parts, second what did you expect from a unknown brandless part. and no point yelling at ebay.. yell at the guy who sold you the part and should have returned it... next time spend some money and dont be so cheap and then tell the world how cheap you are by posting a vid. if you wanted to help us all put up a video of how you fixed the problem.. and what does a NOOB like you need a short shifter for any ways!!!!!!!!!!!

@roctuning well hello, first off thanks for actually watching the video, second you should of read the info to know that this was for my cousin's rx7 third if u read past comments you would of probably seen that i said we installed it and it works fine, fourth yea i scream cuss and whatever, dont take it seriously its only a joke and if your offended then once again, if you read the info i already warned u about the language. also yes i buy cheap parts because im broke. but ill accept donations

I have the same exact knock off short throw shifter and I believe it is installed correctly as well, but I have one question. status of fc3s: cold engine, cold transmission/drive-train, engine is off and the car is in the garage...is it difficult for you to shift through all the gears? EX: shifting from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd...etc takes more effort than its oem shifter. I noticed that my current shifter (knock off short throw shifter) isn't as smooth as the stock shifter.

dudes....u both r a bunch of idiots...that ebay shit will fit....u just have to know how to install it... i have the exact same shifter from ebay...and it works. U just don't know how to put it in..it took me a while to figure out but it works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so don't throw it away.. shoot me an email and ill tell u how to do it...peace
