  • lol, I think if most arminians saw your MONORGISM Tshirt, they wouldn't have a clue what it means anyways... one time an arminian baptist was rebuking me because they had never heard of the distinction between imputed and imparted righteousness.

  • lol... well, most arminians I talk to agree with most of the points of Tulip... have you ever heard of Marc Carpenter? His position is that if you're an arminian you cannot be saved because you believe a gospel that is not true. Interesting...

  • @tgillspy1 your comment shows you dont understand the Bible or what Calvinists even believe

  • @tgillspy1 How do interpret or define "The Gospel?"

  • @tgillspy1 I am not one to start throwing around statements about Calvinists preaching another Gospel. Why do you think they are preaching another Gospel? Most of the greatest missionaries were Calvinist. Help me understand why you would go as far as to say they are preaching another Gospel. I often talk with Calvinist thinkers because I am trying to understand how they arrive at all of their conclusions. Some of what they believe just doesn't make sense to me as I understand the Bible.

  • I find this interesting. I would consider myself an open Theist and I disagree with your final point. Why does my prayer HAVE to be for God to turn anyone's heart to force them to believe in Him? The question is turned right back on you. The Calvinist believes that God has chosen individuals to be saved before the world was formed, so those who God draws WILL be saved. No need to pray for anyone to be saved...for they are already saved. Acts 16:14. God opened her heart so she could hear...

  • @HermitintheRain It must be remembered: it is not any of us who is saving anyone-not even ourselves. It is truly all the work of the Lord. That the Father has purposed-to make foolish the wisdom of this world-to save them through the preaching of the gospel is but according to his will. It is still by the regenerating work of the Spirit that a soul is saved through the power of the atoning blood of the Son. The real issue is-who is sovereign? God or man's will? Whose throne is above all thrones?

  • @HermitintheRain The Son of Man who became surety for his people before the foundation of the world, must secure the salvation of each and everyone of them. the loss of even one will mean eternal failure to fulfill that surety. If there is to be found in the lake of fire one soul that Jesus became surety for, it will make Jesus to be a failure. But the LORD says of his Servant: He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: Isaiah 42:4a

  • Consider Jesus the Redeemer. In that quality is revealed more than meets the eye. God redeems-pays the debt. A debt paid, cannot be required again from the one redeemed. If God redeemed every soul that lived, there would be none tossed into the lake of fire. That there is indicates that there are those to whom redemption is not extended. The law of redemption is that it is in the hand of the Redeemer to elect who he will redeem.

  • Psalms 119:130:7

O Israel, put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is unfailing love and with him is full redemption.
