This is my baby girl at 21 weeks, 1 day. This is a small portion of her first sonogram with a fetal specialist. In the sonogram a week prior she was found to have SUA or Single Umbilical Artery. This was a little unnerving at first but in light of the otherwise normal sonogram, not too alarming after all. The doctor assured me the biggest issue would be that she might be on the small side and monthly sonograms would be necessary until 32 weeks at which time I would have to get them weekly. I'm sharing this to calm the nerves of other parents experiencing something similar. I found no other YouTube videos regarding this subject in personal terms.
@pflrs12 I'm so sorry I did not see this until just recently. She was born Sept. 1 at 8 lbs, 1 oz and 20 inches. The SUA did not affect her at all that we could tell. She is almost 6 months and is 80th percentile for height and weight. She is progressing beautifully. I wouldn't even worry about it, because stress is not good for you or baby and chances are, your baby will be fine. Good luck!

Thank you for posting this video. I am currently 21 weeks but I will be seeing a Fetal Specialist in a week to confirm if indeed my babys' umbilical cord has one artery. How was your daughter when born even after diagnosing her with SUA?
Thank you again
