I forgot I made these tutorials. This look was for Club Dedo's Bizarre Bazaar night inspired by Emily Autumn and her crew. I used a total of 9 double-ended dreads for each ponytail due to time constraints and the fact that dreads are unprofessional for work, so I took them out at the end of the night. Normally if I were installing a full head of dreadlocks, approximately 30-45 DE's would be used and I would have someone help so that the ones in the back look neat. It took about an hour to install the dreads in the video. I ran out of time to wrap the dreads up, but the pigtails came out cute anyway. If the video is too fast for you to see, the way the dreads were braided in is as follows:
- Poke a hole right in the middle of the dread.
- Grab about a 1" section of hair and split it in half.
- Poke one half through the hole you made in the dread.
- Braid together the two sections of hair with one "side" of the dread (make sure you start with the dread as the middle piece).
- Seal the end with a clear braiding rubberband.
- Move on to next section and repeat process.
See my 4 part tutorial on how to make DE's!

Musical inspiration provided by Sonja Kraushofer of Persephone. The song is called "Reflection".

  • @kimbahoward Good point! I made the video with the assumption that my viewers would already have an idea, but I can definitely make a video that is a close-up demonstration. I will let you know when it's up.

  • @sourpunchtwists Typically, one package of hair will be enough for 6 Double Ended dreads, so I used one package of each color for this video.

  • @xlilxcreepyxgirlx Thank you! :)

  • @imsoskarude It's not very hard, just a matter of breaking the rubber bands that secure your hair to the dread and unbraiding it. For the amount of dreads I used in this video, it took about 30 minutes to remove at the end of the night. I'm in the same boat, can't have them at work but I think it's worth the time spent to have dreads for a night. I haven't had a chance to hoop in a while but I did get a new one over the summer so hopefully I'll get back into it soon and not be so terrible!

  • @coolrockingchika It's called "Reflection" by a talented musician by the name of Persephone. She is great!

  • @LunaSims Haha, I wish I had a fabulous singing voice, but no. The song is "Reflection" by Persephone.

  • @daisyfrostxoxo Thank you! :)

  • @Mcmyou1 I also normally braid it all until this night where I was scrunched for time and it turns out it's not bad at all! I only used 18 DE's, 9 for each pigtail.
