  • @MDEMONIC689 And this is why the goverment wont commit the money for green issues because they know its Propaganda, Man is too miniscule to have any effect on the workings of the planet.

  • Whilst this action is without doubt to be highly commended, it is sadly not enough . We need to take a page out of the french books stand together, and stop being taken to the cleaners by our dictatorship government ! ok fuel goes up so haulage has to go up oh then food goes up , mp's wages up, our jobs..up in smoke..our homes down the pan WHY? because of your attitude! 'its not my problem' lets sort it ..together remember.. your home maybe at risk if you dont keep up the payments .call me

  • time this country stuck together. every truck driver took a week of at the same time. this country would grind to a halt.the last big fuel protests didnt last long enough. 3 more days back then we wouldnt be doing this now.we dont have the same backing from the farmers this time.

  • of further interest I just got hold of this from euronews: French fishermens' fuel strikes set to go Europe-wide

    Euro News | May 27, 2008

Fishermen across western and southern Europe are threatening an open-ended strike from Wednesday in protest at rising fuel costs. Several ports in France have remained blocked for more than a week despite a government aid deal, and fishermen in the Spanish region of Catalonia began strike action yesterday.

    Not just the UK

  • The increase in flow has reduced the oil price temporarily 129 dollars I believe and maybe it will go down but in a short period of time the price will be over 140 dollars and rising (bilderberg said 200 dollars a barrel last year by the end of this year, bilderberg (the money masters) meets again in Chantilly,VA USA June 5-8 I believe)

  • Just some econonomics what has happened not mixed with the lies the news throws at us.

Gordon has done his publicity stunt to stem the tide of frustration and Saudi arabia has increased the flow of oil why? To help the UK or meet rising demands of energy which are prevalent across the world india china etc, therefore the price of oil rising has nothing to do with speculators who may cause slight blips but are nothing compared to heavy industry powerhouses in china and other nations

  • Isn't it time that the British People retaliated and started some sort of protest or demonstration against the rising price of petrol. Wirah, a new network arranges protests against scientology at present but apparently exists for other protests, too. If enough people are made aware of this website surely it could be used to get people together to boycott petrol stations - Shell, BP, Esso etc? Check it out and let's spread the word ...

  • I think it more likely the government will never speak about peak oil, as if it was a taboo.

Instead the issue of climate change is used as a cover, better to convince you that you are evil for having a high carbon footprint, better to use propaganda to brainwash the public to reduce their consumption.

I say "will happen" as in the oil will run out one day.

The prediction element is more the doom mongers that say it's today rather than 100 years or whatever.

  • biggest problem in this country is the tax. Oil has always been fairly cheap but topped up with ripp off tax duty and vat.(vat on duty, thats taking the piss)Now oil has risen u notice the tax burden more. lets be honest here 70% tax is taking the piss, and they have got away with it for years. Green taxes, another con. take the money off car drivers and fill the tanks, war planes and ships instead. Which is the greener?

  • It's about time someone started doing something. The trouble is, the truck companies are just demanding a reduction for themselves, they are not bothered about us car drivers. At least they can top up their cars from their truck's fuel - we can't. Pretty selfish of them, I'd say.
