Murdoch is from Australia, and they don't want to kill him there. They like him because he's rich and makes fake donations to bull shit charities every now and then. One of those rich guys that always looks nice but clearly isn't. Australia also kisses the asses of the united states when it comes to politics and money. Australia's prime minister was and still is one of bushed biggest supporters.

Rupert Murdoch first built up a media empire in Australia (where he was born), then moved onto the UK before he even started moving into America.
so im not quite sure how America is protecting him from "the people who he pissed off" who are "oversees" [sic].
I think he safely lived and was successful in Australia and the UK a lot longer than "like 5 seconds"
