WHAT GROUP, ERA, SINGER, ETC. ONE LIKES IS PERSONAL AND IT'S FINE TO GO NUTS FOR LESSER KNOWN PERFORMERS. THIS TYPE OF ALMOST PRIMAL R&R WORKS BETTER FOR ME NOW THAN IN THE '60S. THERE WAS A SHARING OF EARLY AMERICAN INFLUENCES IN THE 50S THAT CREATED ROCK. WHY NOT CELEBRATE ONE OF THE BETTER, BUT ALAS, NEARLY FORGOTTEN STARS OF THOSE DAYS?! ROCK ON, PEOPLE!

@Ezdduf4kuZ Over some sessions, it soundsa bit like Johnny Cash' folsom prison blues. Doesn't it??

@Eightbanger Hmmm, was I that tired last evening that I missed the last sentence...or have you added it after my comment? lol Or should I do as Dale sings, "...close my eyes and I tried get some sleep..." I'm tired!

Dale Hawkins is #1 with me and then some. I prefer to listen to Dale all day long over Elvis and that's no bull. Dale wasn't played much here back in the day, I remember Susie Q but other than that all his other top 10 hits weren't played here locally....not that I know of. My favorites by this guy happen to be Tornado and Boy Meets Girl". Yes Dale may of been a nobody all because of Susie Q, but today with youtube and all those postings, Dale Hawkins, Eddie & Gene r my favorites!

@Ezdduf4kuZ I agree with you 100% , I'll take any of those guys you mentioned including Chuck Berry & a good few others over Elvis, it's heresy I know especially within the rockin scene of today to admit you don't like EP.

Eightbanger, are you sure this is from London in the '80s?? Sound TOO much like the real deal aka from the '50s. I mean, just listen to his voice. Voices changes with age, gets darker or different, but this sound excactly like his '50s recordings. I bet a dime it's from the '50s. Hugh Betcha!

@gangerollo You're correct...This is an original recording from 1957/58, in the info I am saying that during the London Rockabilly scene of the 1980's this track was played a lot .
Hope this explains it better.
R.I.P Dale Hawkins.....
