Hello, I've been collecting rare films and television programmes for nearly twenty years now and I thought it was high time I shared some clips from a few of the titles in my archive with you nice people out there. If you've a similar passion or just want to say hello, thanks etc. get in touch with me here or at statesedgefilms@virginmedia.com

I look forward to hearing from (at least) a few of you and hope that you enjoy my humble offerings.

SHADOWS OF FEAR (1970-1973)
Anthology series in which characters find themselves in weird and scary situations. Not evoked by the supernatural but by other people.

The last episode was only 30 minutes long and was shown sometime after the original series in a later slot. Leading to some controversy about what had happened to the rest of the episode (IMDB).

THE DEATH WATCHER (1971)
University lecturer Emmy Erikson pays a visit to the home of Doctor Pickering, supposedly for a meeting about his investigations into paranormal activity, he tells her of his ongoing experiments into life after death and proving the existence of ghosts. Emmy, a confirmed sceptic, is not keen to take part in the experiment he has planned for her but Pickering, with the help of his aide de camp Dawson, locks her in a guest room. Unfortunately for Emmy his experiment involves being able to harness the spirit of someone who dies a violent death (MemorableTV.com).

  • @RobertHubbard Seeking Distant Early Warning, you have it? Please if you can post on youtube. Reply to @ live.cl fabricio.valdes

  • What haunting music in the title sequence; love it!! Might even knock The Persuaders title choon off my top spot.

And I love Judy Parfitt too. I first became aware of her in "The Jewel in the Crown". Beautiful (sorry to be so shallow Judy).

Thames tv were class back then compared to now. I recently heard someone say ITV is now the failed state of British TV.

  • @jonathan45278 - DISTANT EARLY WARNING made in 1975 as an episode of ABC's late night "Wide World Mystery".

  • her ugly husband looks romulan or vulcan

  • Can anyone help me please? When I was a child in the late 70s I saw part of an episode of horror/ suspense anthology series. The episode was about a team of men in an ice station (maybe Antarctic) & their dead relatives come to visit them. 1 of the men is black & doesnt trust these dead people & he holds an M16 gun all the time. Later the ghosts bring the black mans pet dead dog. After that another man follows the ghosts then to return horrified. I think the series was American. Thank you.

  • Wow, I never heard of this show. On one of my suspense anthology kicks, I was watching a Journey to the Unknown clip and this was one of the related videos. Cool opening too.

  • I wonder if someone can help, in the early 70;s there was a tv show- supsence, drama horror and the opening segment always ended with a house and it had crooked shutters...that is all i can remember...does anyone know the name of the series? Thanks in advance..

  • Ooh... I want to see the rest!

  • Is this the series that featured an episode about an English couple holidaying in Germany who get taken hostage by a prison escapee?

  • Oh my god! I havent seen this for years. That title sequence is still as creepy as remembered in fact now more than ever. Jacques Gillies wrote some cracking scripts as well. Thanks for posting it.
