Funny how he implies the wings are bad when that year they finished #1 in the west and the preds had a great season that year

Wings Rule.

@ebtricks We'll see, talk all you want, but the fact is, neither of us know.
-
@ebtricks Since then, the Red Wings have changed their scouting, they are constantly bringing in good players, but seeing is how you seem like a fan boy of a different team, arguing with you is futile.

@DarthEggplant You must be a younger fan. There's an era in their history called the "Dead Wings" era from 1967–82. Between that span, they only made the playoffs twice, and only won one series. So, if you'd been alive or done your research, you'd know that they haven't always been good.
It took a fourth overall pick named Steve Yzerman to turn things around. This is the rebuild thing we talked about earlier. What goes up, must go down. In today's NHL, the Wings are going down.
-
@ebtricks The Red Wings have been in the NHL longer than almost every team. They have been consistently good. Therefore, the strong scouting in Sweden has payed off. The Red Wings have always been good, and always will be.
-
@DarthEggplant Oh yeah? The highest pick the Wings have had in the last five years was Kindl at 19th. The Wings are great at using low picks for high-end talent, but they needed a starting point. This starting point is called a rebuild, and the Wings will have to be thinking about one in the next few years. The Wings are going to be in "Flames" mode with old, over-payed, and mediocre players, while you stay in limbo with your identity. This time comes for every franchise.

@ebtricks They are both very gifted. Both have proved quite capable of combating offensive players. Saying the "stars are getting older" may very well be the stupidest thing I've ever heard. There is something called a draft, and it allows younger played to be put on the teams. Crazy right? Fucking moron.
If any other team had to deal with the injuries the wings had to go through, they would be dead last. Now that we have Babcock not worrying about the olympics and everyone in good health, I think the playoffs are in the bag. So Anit-wings fans stfu unless you know what your talking about

@DarthEggplant Correct, I'm a huge Avs fan. I've seen superstars come and go. I've seen our GM's and coach's collectively demolish a once great franchise.
Detroit has always had better management and coaching, so they got more out of the team. But when you don't have a single top-6 player or upper pairing defensemen under the age of 27, there's little to argue. That's the only sign you need. With youth, you get potential. With potential, you have a future. Age brings redundancy.
