We're living in the school bus and have a chicken coop keeping hens on side for eggs .
I had 2000 hens before in (1994)for producing to market but today only five for our day to day needs. We bought these in 2009. In this video, they're younger and we're at Red Gate Farm. Savannah G.A Now, we live in another area with a big organic garden called Green Bridge Farm G.A

If you have chance keep some hen home .
This Buff Orpington good with the colder wether and laying eggs for the family .
The morning time little louder but rest of the day funny and busy and relaxing.
This five hen did lay close to 1000 eggs the first year and 850 but bigger eggs the second years .
If you go with organic feed you spend same what come back on eggs but real fresh eggs.
And good show the family.
All best and good inspiration.

This small number of hen not for eat also.

    All best from Sandor.

  • @djsandoors Well, I am very acostume to seing free range chickens even in middle of suburban areas, also, here in the capital of my state Colima, Mexico, There's always the neighbour who has it's loose chickens on the neighboorhood. I always found this amusing, you end up seing loose chickens everywhere, even on roadsides of the highways.

  • @AmarokSaga

This true if see lost and dead end situation maybe better to close up the chicken in the right size of coop.

Is not mean will not happy . If have good food and water and can busy with a little dig or sun bath .

I have before 2000 free range hen in building and run outside area ad look nice and kind of happy even just have 3-4 hen on 11 sq ft / 1 sq meter place.

  • Please if you can Sr. DJ... you and your wife drive your school bus to Costa Rica and live on our land. Me & my husband could use a skilled craftsman like yourself. We have talented musicians here too. Need help starting organic farming, the weather is beautiful here, never too cold or too hot, you don't need heating/airconditioner, just a warm blanket at night. Only problem we may have to tow your bus up our driveway with a tow truck, we live in mountains, 3650 ft elevation. Good beer here too
