Master and Commander belongs to Patrick O'Brian and Peter Weir.
The music is "Concerto for Four Violins and Orchestra in B Minor", movement 3 (allegro)
It is not from the soundtrack, but I thought it fits very well.

This film was underrated. The special effects were brilliantly done and recreated a bygone time.

@MrJorlop Technically, yes, but keep in mind that Bach had arranged this same piece for four harpsichords so you never know!

A minor detail... the music of Vivaldi was almost totally unknown at this time (beginning of the nineteenth century) and he was laying and decaying in a pauper's tomb in Vienna since 1741. They could not have played his music.

@goldheadss Series rock. I'd definitely love if they would be made into movies, but then the whole point is authenticity, and it's really expensive to be made for TV series.
