Stewart-MacDonald's arbor press adapted for fretting stringed instruments. Dan Erlewine demos this scaled-down version of the big presses used in guitar factories.

  • I spotted an old Magnatone tonemaster

  • @DarkItachi1 Dan Erlewine said, "I know it as a "260" (it is a master of tone though)."

  • @randomguitarstuff56 Depends, estimate about 250$. If it's maple, it may cost more because the lacquer may chip when the frets are pulled.

  • @stewartmacdonald, how much does Dan or any of your luthiers charge for a refret on a strat? Jumbo frets, no glue. I have a 1978 neck that I don't want to try on. I don't know what the radius is because it was given to me without any description.

  • @silentboy85 Remove your old frets with a soldering iron, never pull frets cold

  • a demonstration on the JAWS would be great too

  • after this u can show the machine for remove the old fret...
