A pretty poem by this well-loved writer of romances, who liked to portray idyllic rustic scenes, but it's doubtful how much he knew about "country matters" except in the sense Hamlet meant it - but in that sense he did do pretty well.

Buttercups are in fact poisonous to cattle, unless they're dried by haymaking.
