Footage filmed at the European Youth Meeting (EYM) 2010 which took place between the 27th of July and the 2nd of August 2010 in Almada, near Lisbon, Portugal.
This was a meeting of Amnesty International youth activists from all over Europe who got together in order to learn about human rights, share experience and act together for human rights.
One of the leading topics at the event were the eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). The goals, which range from halving extreme poverty to halting the spread of HIV/AIDS and providing universal primary education, all by the target date of 2015 -- form a blueprint agreed to by all the world's countries and all the world's leading development institutions. They have galvanized unprecedented efforts to meet the needs of the world's poorest).
As part of a workshop about the MDG's, the participants of the EYM 2010 called for world leaders to embrace the MDG's and to take human rights into consideration when trying to deal with poverty issues.
