Like A Skyscraper - A Jemi story

Shaking my head, I walked out of the local coffee shop, smiling a bit to myself as I felt raindrops touch my cheeks. Feeling my body suddenly on the ground, I opened my eyes to see my ex-best friend Selena hovering over me. "Haven't you done enough?" I ask, slowly standing back on my feet. "How long did you think you could keep this silly secret Demi? I mean seriously!" Looking at her, silently, I grabbed my bag from the pavement and turned around, taking in a sharp breath as I walked away from her, not looking back, not even for a moment. She's gonna tell. I KNOW she will. then she'll make herself look like the victim. Great.

- the next day - at school -

sighing as I got off the bus, I walked the remaining 2 blocks to school. seeing people crowding by the door, except the main path, I rolled my eyes and kept walking in, staring ahead and blocking the surroundings out. "they aren't worth it.." I whisper to myself. Feeling balled up pieces of paper being thrown at me, girls laughing with one another. "Stay strong Demi.."

Seeing Selena standing by her locker, I shook my head as I walked over to her. "What did you do?" I asked with my eyebrows raised high. "let's say it's a surprise from your best friend....... Me!" I scoffed as I looked her up and down. "you are NOT my best friend." Shoving a hand into my pocket, I sighed as I walked over to my locker. Reaching it, my eyes welded up with tears. "N-No.." I whisper. Looking at my locker that was filled with my families pictures, with my parents and little sister crossed out, the tears began to fall from my eyes. "SURPRISE!" I looked back at Selena with pain and hurt in my eyes. I slowly opened my locker, tears falling even harder as the word "KILLER" was written on the inside door. Screaming as I slammed it shut, I looked back at selena as I made my way over to her. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! YOU ARE REALLY THAT ANGRY AT ME THAT YOU'D DO THIS!!!?" Selena looked at me, still with the smirk/smile and her eyebrows raised. "Uhm. yes?"

Shaking my head, I slapped her hard, and repeated to do so 3 or 4 times. "Demi! Enough!" Miley looked at me, and I looked at her. Grabbing her hand, I walked outside and to the back of the school, standing next to a tree. "Woah! What was that about?" Miley asked. Whipeing some blood from my hand, I looked at the ground, still in tears. "Obviously you haven't seen my locker.." after explaining everything on and in my locker with detail, I looked at my little sister and shook my head. "Miley.. I really didn't mean to do it.. I didn't.." Shaking her head, Miley put her hands on my cheeks to make me look at her, tears flooding my eyes. "you didn't.. okay?"

Walking up the stairs to the roof, I bit the inside of my cheek a bit as I saw the view. "If you're thinking of jumping, I don't think that'd be the best option." Turning around as I heard his voice. I sighed as I bit my lip. "Wasn't planning on it Joe.." Slowly sitting against the wall, I held a small locket in my hands, gulping a bit as he walked over to me. " I saw your locker.. kind of harsh.. huh?" He said, sitting beside me. Shaking my head as I sighed, glancing his way every now-and-then. "No.. It's only the beginning.." "I saw your locker door.. when you opened it.. But I couldn't see the word.. What was it?.. if you don't mind me asking.. " I sighed as I looked at him. "It said Killer.."
