@001Eros very sorry to see the song "Kahin Door Jab Din Dhal Jaye" in this list. If I am not wrong then, both the songs (Kahin Door Jab & Amay Proshno Kare) were composed by Late Salil Choudhury Ji. So one must not comment like copying & cheating...

@putci76 "you and I" not "I and you"

@SujayDey how could Gautam Chatterjee compose this song in the 70s. I know MG was a 70s band. Listen carefully to the lyrics. "Boka Baksha" (Idiot Box) did not arrive in India until after the 1980 Asian Games. What you are listening to is the cover version by Crosswindz

I'm sorry, but, " KAHIN DOOR JAB DIN DHAL JAAYE" is not a lift from" AAMAAY PROSHNO KAREY NEEL DHRUBOTAARA", as both the songs are composed by the famous stalwart Sri Salil Chowdhury....... it is only a hindi version of his same original number "AAMAY PROSHNO KAREY".This cannot be stamped to be a lift, since both the songs are composed by him and not a different composer.

@emon74 There are many good bands in Bangla with thoughtful lyrics for example Fossils, Bhumi from India and Meghdol, Shironaamhin From Bangladesh. Sorry I named only four but if you listen to them you will come to know about many others.

@ribusgan Pritam is an awfully fraud musician, how many of his songs are original we have to research, he copied songs from not only from Bangla but from Urdu,Arabic and many more. He is just a wastage of money, just buy CDs of some foreign music and the copy paste which can be done by the directors themselves.
"BHEEGI BHEEGI" 's music is a damn copy of this.....Bollywood knows the art of copying, you know...."YA ALI" from "YA GHALI"(Arabic)....."JAB KOI BAAT BIGAD JAYE" from "FIVE HUNDRED MILES"...."KAHIN DOOR JAB DIN DHAL JAYE" from "AMAY PRASHNO KARE NIL DHRUBOTAARA"(Bengali)...."KYA MUJHE PYAR HAI" from an Indonesian Song........and how many shall I name?....Nice Cheating Bollywood, Keep it Up!!

pritam (sarkar), the composer of this song from "gangster" was a groupie flunk in the group, mohiner ghoraguli, and conveniently plagiarised this song. gautam chattopadhyay, a prodigious talent died quite young.
i think the discussion here is about the original composition, not about if james from bangladesh sang better than someone in india.
