Daryle demos the Roland VG-99

If you want to play Electric guitar live, and change to an acoustic mid song, you have to try the new Roland VG-99. (how else would you be able to change guitars mid song)
It also has some cool synth and guitar sounds, but just for the acoustic alone, it is so useful.
Bring just one guitar to a show, and play everything on it.
Fender makes a Roland Ready Strat, perfect for this, but I am using my custom made Roland/ Fender Strat.

Why would you use a strat? Cause you can.

Well, actually, cause you have to use some kind of guitar to have a midi guitar.

Why not one that you are comfortable with. With the settings in the VG-99, you can then have any guitar and any pickup you want, with any amp. Easy.

Also, you can have acoustic guitars too.... so to recap.....you bring your fav guitar and the VG-99 to any session, and whalla...anything you want. Does that kinda give you an answer? You use a strat if you have one, you can use a les paul if you have one of those. What ever you are comfortable with.

what amp are you playing through?

This is a Roland VG 99, and it is not just an effects pedal, it is an amp modeller. There is "no amp", the VG99 is being played through a PA system. You could record direct from it too, but live I use a combo of the VG 99 through a PA, and my Line 6 Flextone 3. It has some great acoustic guitar sounds (I hardly ever use my real acoustic for recording any more.)

That is pitch change via Rolands patented "D Beam". It senses lack of light, and makes it sound like a Floyd Rose arm drop....doesn't it?

Thanks for the great comment. This was shot on day one of owning it. It is patch 355 a synth in 5ths. As for the Roland shirt, I attend a Roland new products launch every year. (in the spring). And every year they give out T shirts. This is just one of my many Roland shirts. Find a Roland product launch at a town near you in the spring, and get what they give out. (or maybe look on ebay)
