Independent filmmakers Wyllie O Hagan support the Phoenix , East Finchley, London, celebrating 100 years of cinema.
"The Phoenix is probably the oldest, purpose-built, continuously serving cinema in Britain. In that time it has never been a bingo hall, snooker club or gone dark."
The Archer Newspaper, September 2010.
A CENTURY OF CINEMA is part of the Phoenix's centenary celebrations. Wyllie O Hagan attended the launch of the initial event. This featured silent films from the Edwardian era of the 1910s decade. A further 9 decades of film are scheduled monthly.
