  • scotties are NOT supposed to swim........their legs are too short and body too dense so you should NEVER force them into the water cuz they can easily drown......this video clearly shows how hard it was for the scottie to swim.....

  • maudkramer is right. Their legs are too short and they sink like stones. One little scotty at our dog park drowned but was given cpr and revived. He got fatigued and couldn't swim anymore. I keep a life vest on mine or a sea dogg floating collar. I will never let my scotty without either one if there's water for swimming. it only takes a second for them to drown like the one I witnessed.

  • Yes, this is a scary video--Scotties are so prone to drowning, so we don't let our little guy near the water without his doggie vest. I hope these people know that so that Lana won't have a very sad accident.

  • Life jacket NEEDED.....

  • My Scottie loves swimming. Although I always keep him on the leash and watch him, also let him sweem only in shallow water along the shore line. I do not know why but he adores water, always ready to jump into a bathtub, a fountain or other body of water. He is a Scottish water dog.....lol

  • THIS is funny, i have a scottish terrier too, i uploaded a video where he is playing with water.you can watch it in my channel

  • All of Croatia is extremly beautiful.

  • In case you people didn't notice, there were people all around the dog. All within a quick arms reach, this Scottie was never in any danger.

  • i have this kind of dog mine can swim 4 2 seconds and then her but sinks

  • OMG there not ment to go in the sea swimming that's why it came toasted you as it wanted help getting back to shore :(

  • Ours' loves the water too-we have her in a lifejacket, and it's the funniest thing ever! More than anything else, however, she loves to pull up the seaweed. Awesome! Thanks for posting.

  • Maybe they are not "supposed" to swim. But my Scottish loves it. She always goes right into the water biting waves and swimming...
