I was a little further East of this location in Newcomerstown videotaping this train. I think a lot of us have forgotten just how LOUD those Nathan 5 chimes were. It was literally painful to have unprotected ears with the train three blocks away bouncing the sound off surrounding buildings. BTW, K5LA was the Chessie designation, Amtrak was close but one note different.
But I don't think this one is going to be scrapped. I heard it was going to be leased to AMT.

271 Is owned by Railworld Locomotive leasing they have been using them for parts and then scrapping the rest.
