I sang this song for years at karaoke and not until I hooked back up with an old girlfriend did I understand why. I sang it to her and she rapped for arms around me and apologized. Ironically, it happend again but I've always liked this song.
And Buble's version is Awesome!!!

my husband left me last September after 25 years together...i spent months listening to this song,in front of him as well,praying that he'd have the guts to tell me the truth about what was going on...heard it again recently and ended up crying in public in broad daylight at the heartache it bought back.
