Benjamin's First Swim!

Our Labrador Retriever Benjamin went for his first swim today. I took him out to 'Fiesta Island' in San Diego, CA where it's mostly a small bay area where the river connects and the ocean is on the other side. It's good because it's more calm and since he's a puppy we thought the ocean would be a bit too extreme at only 8 weeks old! He's learning fast and immediately showed he is a true water dog. It did not take any coercing for Benjamin to jump in the water and swim! Next step is teaching him how to go fetch and retrieve in the water (he has it down on land so far).
