This when i heard for the first time instantly impacted my senses like a speeding train and what i would say is a beautiful, melancholic, spirtiual, harmonic, raw, classy piece of real music. i think that duran were a money macking machine but underneath the hoorah and bandanas was and still is a truley special band with highly creditable and outstanding creative talent. this is what duran are before the videos and polished looks of their videos. wonderful and always will be one of my favourites

@Latas33007 Simon also came up with the tune of the song. He also had it before he joined the band so when the band couldn't come up with a tune to fit the lyrics, he pulled out his original tune, which he'd apparently never told them about before, and that's what they expanded the song around.

so glad this on here. I remember listening to this on the original vinyl and thinking just how seminal and emotive track it is. a true testament to their musical and lyrical skill. This was circa 1978 when the track first saw its roots....v avant garde. Cant say I'm really bothered by any disparaging comments, if this doesnt move you somewhere within, I suggest you listen harder.
