Alot of these ads are really corny, like the pepsi and that annoying cadbury drink ad :) lol
I'd been trying to find that guiness ad though because I remember it vaguely when I was a kid and the music for it always stuck in the back of my mind :) lol
For 1986 that Guiness advert seems pretty dated and looks more like its about 10 years older.
Mind you, I liked the Tuborg advert and it's not a bad pint either. As for Harp lager or Diet Pepsi, the less said the better ;-)
This must have been during Maggie Thatcher's privatisation binge where all the utilities were sold off, if only she'd foreseen large foreign companies owning all our energy firms, rather than small individual shareholders which was probably what she intended originally.
Do you have the full length version of the guinness advert as this is the short version?

I actually have a poster of that Guinness ad that I bought in an Irish gifts shop and it says that it goes back as far as 1981.

Interesting how the mum in the Dale Pack advert resembles Dorothy Thompson from "Postman Pat"!
